Peak Performance is proud to offer two types of martial arts. Tang Soo Do and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Tang Soo Do is the grandfather art of Tae Kwon Do. The literal translation for Tang Soo Do is “The Way of the Strike and Defend Hand”.
It is primarily stand-up self-defense. We do incorporate some ground self-defense to teach the children how to effectively get back to their feet.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been made famous due to the UFC, however, Jiu-Jitsu translated means the “Gentle Art”. The martial art is great for learning
how to defend yourself when confrontations end up on the ground. With nearly 80% of all self-defense situations ending up on the ground,
it is a great martial art to learn.
Regardless of the style of martial arts, you choose to focus on in your initial training, the majority of our students train in both disciplines.
This provides them with very strong self-defense. We like for students to start in one martial art and then expand their training into both
after certain training expectations have been met.
Martial arts is one of the options you have to choose from in our After School Program. If you decide to have your child take the martial arts.
They will start out with two formal classes per week. They will participate in additional physical training daily,
but they will have two scheduled formal classes per week.
We have designed a very effective curriculum that has been vetted and tested over 44 years of training with Master Schill. Master Schill provides each student with a quarterly curriculum, syllabus, video tutorials (For practicing at home) as well as our Student Success Curriculum. Every quarter we perform testing on the curriculum the students have been studying. Master Schill does not believe in the theory that “Everybody Wins, Every Gets a Trophy” so the students must pass their test to get rank.
All of the martial arts instruction, testing, promotions, Students Success Curriculum, rewards, SWAT Parties that the students qualify for are included with the after school tuition.
There are no hidden cost or surprise fees in our program.
